Governor of Benue State, Gov Alia has sworn in 23 newly elected Local Government Chairmen irrespective of the kick from PDP.
This inauguration was done on the 7th October, 2024 where he charged them to be transparent in their dealings and serve without fear or favor.

In the latest development, APC the ruling party cleared all the seats meant for both chairmen and councilors.
Opposition party, PDP claimed that the election was marred with malpractices and irregularities demanding for immediate cancelation of the result.
However, Gov. Alia rebuffed such claims, saying the elections were conducted free and fair.
A lot of opposition Party leaders PDP have called for cancelation of results as this result does not show the actual voting of the masses and its a slap to democracy.
